Istanbul Airport (IST) is around 40–50 km from the city centre. After landing, you have four main options. The best choice depends on your luggage, arrival time and group size.
1. Metro (M11)
Take the M11 towards Gayrettepe and change to the M2 for Taksim. Rail travel can be economical, but walking and changing trains with luggage may be tiring. Check operating hours before travelling.
2. Havaist airport buses
Airport buses serve designated stops, including major city areas. They are a practical alternative, although you will still need to arrange the last part of the journey from the stop to your hotel. Traffic can extend the trip.
3. Taxi
A taxi offers door-to-door travel. The fare depends on the meter and traffic. A larger group or several large suitcases may require more than one vehicle.
4. Private VIP transfer
Your driver greets you by name in the arrivals area and takes you directly to your address. A Mercedes Vito accommodates up to seven passengers and seven bags. The fare is set per vehicle when the booking is confirmed.
Planning your arrival
Public transport options may be more limited late at night. Check the timetable for your arrival date, allow for luggage collection and traffic, and book in advance if you prefer a direct transfer.
